FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q. How long is the appointment and what is the process?
A. An initial appointment is typically a 1.5 hour procedure, give or take.  When you arrive, we will have a short consultation, I will take your before photo, and apply local anesthetic to begin numbing.  We will then go through all the necessary paperwork and answer any questions and address any concerns you may have.  Next we will proceed to shape and draw your brows in the most natural way that suits your face best.  I will include you in the process, allowing you to fully be involved in the deciding factors of shape, height, thickness, etc.  Color is decided by your skin tone, choosing the most natural shades for your coloring, possible. As with any cosmetic tattoo, the tattooing process can then take anywhere from twenty minutes to an hour, depending on what we are doing.

Q. How often do I need to get a touch up?
A.  You will likely need a touch up within 6 weeks of the initial procedure with any cosmetic tattoo, but especially with a 3D Hairstroke Tattoo.  This is because in the initial procedure, it is likely that areas of the tattoo, may not heal evenly, depending on several factors such as how your skin accepts the ink, aftercare, ink color, etc.  There is no way for the Tattoo artist to know for sure, how each individual's body will take a tattoo, so it is very difficult to answer this question with complete accuracy, but in general, how many times you will want or need a touch-up after the 6 week touch up, varies with how you care for the tattoo, your skincare, sun exposure, color and more.  This is a SEMI-PERMANENT tattoo, so the ink is actually designed to fade over time.  As a general rule of thumb, if you find that the borders of your tattoo are starting to get blurry and more difficult to see, you will need a touch up soon.  You will probably need  another touch up after two to five years.  Microblading is a series of fine hair like strokes, in which each 3D hair stroke is of its own tattoo.  That being said, these tiny hair stroke tattoos fade faster than if you would be getting a solid tattoo such as Solid Soft Fill brows, Lips, or Eyeliner.
*IT IS IMPORTANT TO REALIZE THAT IT MAY TAKE MORE SESSIONS TO ACHIEVE YOUR PERSONALLY DESIRED RESULTS**

Q.  Does it hurt?  How much pain is involved?
A.  As soon as you sit in my chair, I will begin by cleaning the area we will be creating a cosmetic tattoo or micro pigmentation, and then applying numbing agent.  You will wait for a minimum of ten minutes, numbing, before we begin the procedure.  The first pass with the needle is the most uncomfortable part of the whole process, but as soon as the top layer of the dermis has been broken, I will then apply more number while I go to work on a different area of your lips, the other eye, or the other brow (etc., what have you...).  By the time I return to that initial area for more refinement, you will most likely be completely numb.  Keep in mind that some have a higher pain tolerance than others, just as it is the case that some folks have a lower pain tolerance, and not everyone has the exact same experience   Different individual  factors impact the entire experience of the procedure, as well as the actual results.

Q.  What do I need to do to prepare for my appointment?
A.  Please come with no makeup on the area that you are going to have worked on.  Do not worry about tweezing or waxing - I will do all of that! In fact I prefer to have as much there as possible so as to be able to see where your brows should lie naturally.  If you typically wear makeup and plan on going somewhere after your appointment, you may want to bring something to touch up the rest of your face, as there is a lot of wiping throughout the procedure and your other makeup may be wiped off.  *If you are on pain killers, blood thinners, or blood pressure medication, this likely will have a negative impact on how your skin will be able to take the procedure, and excessive bleeding may occur.  In this situation, it is important to consult with your doctor and discontinue use of these medications approximately ten days prior to the procedure, to resume again one week after the procedure. I am not a doctor and in no way will I give any medical advice; this is just the recommended protocol, but this is ultimately up to the discretion of your physician and what is best for your health.
*Please do not drink any alcohol and refrain from pain medication of any type (even over the counter Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, or Tylenol) 24 hours prior to the procedure appointment.
*If you are getting your lips tattooed - if you have ever had an outbreak of coldsores or fever blisters, it is advised that you obtain a perscription of Valtrex from your doctor, of five days worth - starting two days prior, and ending two days post procedure.

- IMPORTANT - PLEASE TAKE NOTE:

*All touch ups after the first cosmetic tattoo procedur,e are $85 and up, depending on how long between touch ups and other factors may vary.  You will likely need a touch up 4 - 8 weeks after the initial procedure.

*If you are pregnant or nursing, please wait to schedule your appointment until this is no longer the case.
